Are Not So Distantly Related To
Arthur Miller &
Marilyn Monroe

A surprising discovery and a possible talking point,
is that we have family links to such talented famous people.
Anna Louba Rubens (nee Klionsky) known as
Louba, born in Russia was such an amazing,
beautiful and lovely lady, she was a radiologist
and worked for many years beyond her retirement age!
At the age 100, she was featured on the front cover of
the British Vogue Magazine modelling Tiffany Jewellery! She
lived to the grand age of 105 and passed away in 2004.
Trudy and I enjoyed our last visit to see Louba in London, a little before she was
100 years old and before that I had known her as Grandma Peggy's close
friend. I remember visiting her as a teenager with Mum and Dad at her very
old, small cottage in Henley in Arden (where she lived most of her life)
and I had no idea that Louba was related
to us.
But now I have been told of information showing that Louba was
related to Sir Michael Balcon, as Louba's husband Captain Joshua Ernest Rubens
(Jos) and Michael
Balcon had the same Grandparents. So Louba and Arthur Miller are 1st Cousins
twice removed.
Our connection is from my Grandmother Peggy White (the Bind side of the
family) as Aunty Paul Balcon, Peggy's sister (nee Bind) was married to Sir Michael Balcon's
brother Phineas Charles Balcon (Phin). Sir Michael's daughter Jill
Balcon married Cecil Day-Lewis and they had two children Daniel and
Tasmin. Daniel married Arthur Miller's daughter.
All this now means that we are not so distantly related to:

Arthur Miller the famous playwright
Cecil Day-Lewis the UK Poet Lauriet
Daniel Day-Lewis Oscar winning film star
&
Marilyn Monroe, as she was
Arthur Miller's second wife!
